Out-of-Home Care & the Church

A resource to grow in awareness and explore the role of the local church in Out-of-Home Care = foster care, kinship care, and residential care.

Out of Home Care and the Church is a video series exploring the significant role the local church can play in actively loving and serving children and families who are experiencing the pain and brokenness of family separation.

The number of children entering Out-of-Home Care – which happens when they’re unable to safely remain with their family – has been increasing over the years, while at the same time, foster carers are leaving the system and fewer are entering it. Our state child protection systems are under pressure and the stories of young people leaving care too often paint a heartbreaking picture.

This is an urgent area of need and a powerful opportunity for the church.

Out of Home Care and the Church was designed to help you grow in understanding to meaningfully engage in the Out-of-Home Care space in our local communities.

Let’s explore how God might be at work in the Out-of-Home Care space in your community, and how we might join Him there.

Designed for use in either in a small group, workshop series, larger gathering or church service, Out of Home Care and the Church will help you grow in awareness and pursue meaningful service of children and families, as together we continue to be formed by God’s love, for His purposes in the world.
